On Thursday the 7th of April Donnacha and I went up to Thurles to participate in the spelling bee. When we got there I started getting nervous .

Once we were registered we were handed a spelling bee t-shirt and we had to sit down with our guardian. When we were called up we had to sit in seats that were facing the crowd. First we had a practice round, a few people got them wrong. Five people got knocked out in the first round, three in the second round and Donnacha.

Two people were knocked out in the third round, seven in the fourth round and me . Five were knocked out in the fifth round. Two girls made it in to the knock-out stage .

They made it to the forth word when one of the girls made a mistake. A girl called Ella won, she started crying, she was very happy.
