Grandparents' Day 2023

Grandparents and parents joined the children & staff for a very enjoyable Grandparents' Day on Friday 27th January as part of Catholic Schools Week. We began with the senior pupils delivering the first decade of the Rosary, followed by prayers, music and singing and then a very enjoyable questions and answers session amongst the pupils and their grandparents. The children learned many interesting things about school life in the past such as how schools were heated, what they had for lunch, the playground games they played and much more. Everyone enjoyed a cup of tea before going home.

Official Opening of our New Extension June 2022

CRAFTed

We took part in the CRAFTed programme in partnership with Ailbhe Gerrard from Brookfield Farm and hosted by Laois Education Centre. We took our inspiration from nature and we worked with Ailbhe (through zoom unfortunately, due to Covid) using beeswax to make candles and Christmas decorations.

We were lucky to be chosen as one of the few schools for Nora Stapleton (Irish Rugby) to visit. The children entertained Nora and her comrades from Portumna Rugby Club with a version of 'Ireland's Call'.
She said it was the best reception she had ever received from a school!!
