Last Friday in school we planted some veggies.
We planted lettuce, tomatoes, turnips and carrots.
In school we watched a powerpoint presentation showing us what to do
.

First we put soil into litle cups. We then watered the soil before we put the seeds in. We each had our own cup and made three holes in the soil, when we got the seeds we each put a couple of seeds in each hole and covered them up again with soil.
We put lables on the cups so we knew which one was which and put them on the windowsill.

Growing tomatoes:
We water them every 5 days. After 9-12 weeks a small leaf will appear that means you now have to move the tomatoes into a pot 30cm in diameter make sure the top of the plant is sticking out of the soil. Still water every 5 days. Weeks 13 - 20 a yellow flower will appear. Now you hane to water every 3 days. Week 16-20 the flower will die away and the fruit will appear as a small green ball keep watering every 3 days. Around 22-25 weeks later the tomatoes should be a bright red colour. There are your beautiful, juicy and Homegrown tomatoes!

We are still in the process of growing all of our fruit and veg.
Mabye at the end of the year we will make some soup.

All of our vegetables and fruits.
