Bones are used for protection, structure and movement, they also produce blood in bone marrow.

Your bones are broken up into two categories, your axial bones are used to keep your body upright, and your appendicular bones are for movement. The Skull is also known as the Cranium which is for protecting your brain and structure for your face. Your Cranium is a large bone.

The Ribcage is made up with Fixed Bones and Floating Bones, which protect your Lungs, Liver and Heart.

The Arms and Legs have a similar structure. The longest bone in your body is your Femur also known as the Thigh. In your Arms and Legs there are Hinge Joints which can only move two ways.

Joints connect bones to help them move like a ball and socket joint in your Shoulder and Leg, and there are Hinge Joints which can only move two ways. The Elbow, Knuckles and Knee are all Hinge Joints.

To keep our Skeletal System healthy we must drink Milk to get Calcium and Vitamin D, and get enough Sunshine. 😊👍
