South America is the fourth largest continent in the world. The continent is made up of Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, and Brazil.

South America’s coasts are on the South Pacific on the west and the South Atlantic on the east.
The longest river in South America is the Amazon standing at 6516 km. It is the second longest river in the world, and it passes through Peru and Brazil. The largest mountain range in South America is the Andes. The world’s biggest waterfall is Angel Falls in Venezuela.

Peru’s population in 2021 was 33.72 million. The capital of Peru is Lima and its language is Spanish. Famous landmarks in Peru are Machu Picchu, Colca Canyon and Rainbow Mountain. Peru has foods like Peruvian primer, ceviche, lomo saltado, Aji de Gallina, camu camu, papas a la Huancaina, cuy causa and rocoto relleno.
The Incas were South American Indians who conquered tribes to grow. They went through Peru, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia.

They had many gods, notably Viracocha the creator of the world, Inti the sun god and his wife Mama Qilla. It is said a solar eclipse happens when she is attacked by wild animals.
In my opinion, South America is cool but I wouldn’t go because I am scared I would get a disease and bring it to Ireland.
