​The Snow Leopard
Snow Leopard in Irish is Lipord Sneachta.  
Snow Leopards live across a vast area of northern and central Asia including the Himalayan Mountains. In the Himalayas Snow Leopards high alpine areas mostly above the tree line and up to 18,000 feet in elevation. They are found 12 in countries including China, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia and Mongolia.
Snow Leopards are carnivores. It is capable of killing prey three times its weight. Snow Leopards help to keep the ecosystem in balance by preying on Himalayan marmot populations which are over populated. Snow Leopards eat slow usually taking 3 or 4 days to consume a sheep or goat.
Some of the Snow Leopards cubs will stay in their den to stay from danger. The cubs are like kittens helpless at birth and don’t open their eyes until they are 7 days old.
Snow Leopards are shy elusive cats known for their solitary nature. These cats are most active at dawn and dusk which is called a crepuscular activity pattern by scientists. Snow Leopards regularly patrol home ranges that cover a hundred of square kilometres.
A Snow Leopards tail is 1 metere long they like the snow and they are a shy animal. By Ben Hough
