On the 5th of April we went to Thurles to participate in an FAI soccer tournament. In our last two tournaments we were knocked out in the groups so we were desperate to take it one step further this time.
We left for Thurles at 8.45 and arrived at 10.30. We got togged out in the dressing room and we were raring to go. Our first match was against Scoil Naomh Sheosamh A. Which we won 4-1. We went 1-0 up before they equalised just before half time. Second half we made some subs and scored three more goals. We got off to a great start.
In our second fixture we played Holy Family. We had watched them before and we knew they wern't as good as us but we couldn't take them for granted. The final score was 6-0. Dan Needham scored a hat-trick and Mikey Houlihan, Frances Bugler and Colette Houlihan also scored one each. In our third match we knew we were in for a big test. We were playing Bishop Harty A who were a very strong team. We tried our best but we got hammered 5-0. We were very disappointed.
In our final game we played St. Isadores. We were determined to go out with a bang. We won 9-2! Dan scored 7 and and Mikey scored 2.
We really enjoyed the tournament and we hope to play in another one soon!
