Leicester City

On Sunday the most exciting Premier League Season ended with Leicester City lifting the trophy.

In 2013/14 Leicester were promoted from the Championship - the English second division- finishing 1st place.

At the start of the season Leicester manager Nigel Pearson was sacked and in his place came Italian Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri was odds on favorite to be sacked first but ended up a league winner.
On the opening day they took on Sunderland and won 4-0 thanks to goals by Jamie Vardy, Marc Albrighton and two from Riyad Mahrez.

After ten games Leicester were in third place behind Manchester City and Arsenal. On the 28th of November, Jamie Vardy broke Ruud van Nistelrooy's record by scoring in eleven consecutive games. By Christmas Leicester topped the table, two points above Arsenal.

Leicester kept on going and winning and by May they were clear of Tottenham. A draw was needed against Man Utd to win the league. United took the lead through Anthony Martial but almost immediately captain Wes Morgan headed home to send the Leicester fans into raptures. They saw out a 1-1 draw and Tottenham's failure to beat Chelsea meant that Leicester City were crowned Premier League Champions 2015/16.
