Athletics in Borrisokane. By Frances Bugler 6th class.

On Wednesdays the 27th of April Redwood school went to Borrisokane. We were doing athletics. There were a lot of schools there.

Niamh and Kate had to sprint 80m in the 3rd class race . Dermot had to sprint 80m with the 4th class boys. Mikey and Rory had to sprint 100m with 5th class boys. Rory came 2nd. Dan had to sprint 100m with 6th class boys. Dan came 2nd. Emily,Colette and I had to sprint 100m with 6th class girls. Emily came 1st.
Next 3rd class had to do turbo javelin. Dermot had to do the long jump. Rory and Mikey had to do the shot and 6th had to do the long jump. 3rd class were finished so Dermot had to do the shot. 5th class were finished. 6th class had to do the turbo javelin.
We entered the 5th class and 6th class relays. For the 5th class there was Mikey, Rory, Niamh and Kate. For the 6th class girls we entered Emily, Colette, Kate and I. For 6th class boys we entered Dan, Rory, Mikey, and Dermot.
Dan, Emily and Rory got medals on the day.
