by: Mikey Houlihan
at Borrisokane
GAA Grounds

1:Aglish N.S
2:Redwood N.S
3:Lackamore N.S
4:Terryglass N.S

Four teams turned up at Borrisokane head to head for a hurling
clash.

For the first match Redwood played Terryglass. About 1 minute in Captain Mikey Houlihan scored a cracking point. But it didn't take long for the opposition to score a goal.Through a tough intense match it ended 2:3 to 4:1.

A short time later Redwood had to play Aglish, a very strong side. Captain Mikey Houlihan scored a peach of a goal but a short while later Aglish were furious and pulled it back to a draw. Through a great game it ended 4 to 7:1 to Aglish.

Finally the last match against Lackamore took off. In this whole tournament Redwood's work rate was phenomenal. Lackamore were first to score with a cracking goal. Captain Mikey Houlihan caught a thunder bolt in the air and whacked it over the bar. Keeper Niamh Patterson pulled off an amazing save. It was hard for Redwood in this whole tournament because they were down a key player due to injury. It was a goalfest but ended 5:1 to 6:3 to Lackamore.
