Cycle Right
Cycle Right is an initiative of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, in association with Cycling Ireland and other interested parties such as the RSA, An Taisce Green Schools, An Garda Síochána, Coaching Ireland and various Local Authorities and Local Area Sports Partnerships.
Redwood NS were delighted with their response to their appeal in local papers / newsletters / social media for scooters, bikes, go carts, tractors etc. that children no longer needed or required! Many different trikes / bikes and scooters were donated from the local community to our cause. The senior room classes continue to dedicate their morning breaks to teaching the younger class how to cycle a bike.

' Wild Food Mary ' visits Redwood N.S.
Wild Food Mary
Mary Bulfin visited both classrooms recently and brought us on a foraging tour of our local area. Mary showed us that wild plants can be used for many different reasons. They can be used as food, remedies, dyes and building materials.
Mary showed us how to find, identify, gather, prepare and eat the foods growing wild all around us!!
